Major repairs of the highway in Khmelnytskyi

As part of the repair work on the highway section in Khmelnytskyi, a set of tasks was performed to prepare and strengthen the road base. To ensure the durability of the coating and prevent premature destruction of the structure, a highly effective needle-punched geotextile TM SanGeo (Turkey) was used, with a density of 500 g/m².

The material was laid directly on the prepared soil as a reliable distribution layer under the crushed stone cushion. The use of rolls 5 meters wide allowed to minimize the number of joints (overlaps) and significantly accelerate the installation rate.

Key functions of geotextiles at this facility:

• Layer separation: Prevents mixing of granite crushed stone with the lower layer of soil under the weight of road machinery and future vehicles.

• Base stabilization: Evenly distributes dynamic loads over the entire area, preventing subsidence and rutting.

• Drainage and filtration: Allows water to pass through freely, but retains the smallest soil particles, protecting the gravel layer from silting.
