Geotextiles are a group of synthetic materials for various purposes, manufacturing methods and composition. It is a flat, permeable fabric, widely used in road construction, foundations and roofing, drainage systems, landscaping, gardening, etc.

Based on the choice of base material, geotextiles are divided into polyester or polypropylene, as well as mixed fibers. Unlike the second type, geotextiles made from natural fibers have high strength and provide excellent physical and mechanical properties. This geo-fabric is not subject to rotting, does not enter into chemical reactions and does not lose its elasticity due to temperature changes.

According to the production method, geotextiles are divided into: needle-punched, heat-fixed and heat-bonded. All three types of geotextile fabric are presented in our assortment.

Needle-punched geotextiles are made from short strands of polyester (polypropylene), which are connected and pulled together using a needle press. As a result, we obtain a dense fabric (non-woven fabric), which is capable of passing water both lengthwise and across and retaining soil particles without clogging the pores. Such drainage properties allow the use of geotextiles in the construction of drainage systems, landscape design and gardening.

Heat-fixed geotextiles are produced by surface heat treatment of needle-punched fabric. Its main advantage is that it retains the same water permeability, but at the same time the material is much more puncture and tear resistant than its derivative. The material is ideal for creating drainage systems, roof waterproofing, road construction, foundation construction and protection from mechanical damage.

Thermally bonded geotextiles are produced by melting polypropylene fibers under high temperature. This type of geotextile is characterized by increased strength and resistance to tearing when used. Filtration occurs only in the transverse direction, so care must be taken when choosing density. This type of geotextile is most often used for landscaping, drainage systems, construction of permanent roads and other places subject to high loads.

The main parameter on which water permeability and elasticity depend is surface density. An incorrectly selected value can reduce the reliability of the design. But you also shouldn’t overpay for maximum density when it’s not necessary. In our warehouse we have geotextiles with a surface density from 80 to 300 g per sq. m.
