When constructing a football field, geotextiles are used as a separating layer between the soil and aggregate or a special sports surface, such as sand or turf. Combined with other properties, this helps create a more rigid, reliable, and even surface capable of withstanding significant game loads, and

also creates a high-quality frost barrier that prevents wet soil from freezing.

Needle-punched geotextiles with a medium density of 150-200 g/m² are most often used for sports facilities. Furthermore, geotextiles have excellent drainage properties, which directly impact the performance of the football pitch. Precipitation will quickly pass through the structural layers without damaging them, and is effectively drained into the subsoil. This prevents water from stagnating on the football pitch surface and turning the turf into mush.

The technology for laying geotextiles in a football field structure is quite simple. Geotextiles are laid on cleared soil throughout the entire field between the supporting layers of sand and crushed stone. The rolls are laid without folds or twists, with an overlap of at least 20 cm. The service life of a football field using geosynthetics is extended to 10 years.

Thus, thanks to the properties of geotextile fabric, it can be concluded that this material is effective not only for the construction or renovation of sports fields, but also for other construction projects.
